It took me a long while to work on this one! Thanks to the challenge of making denims go desi (and my MBA routine)! My sister though managed to pull it off, beautifully! 🙂
Adding an ethnic touch to our denims collection can be a tricky one and so we present this week’s blog that helps our readers to pair it up with their desi collection and make a fashion statement.
Be it the weather or work, nothing should keep us away from playing with our daily wear for that little bit of fun and happiness that we get for ourselves! Oh and how I can forget to mention the “Dude you look soooo prettayyyy” part! 😉 😀

It was a bright sunny day when my sister decided to wear this white pretty kurta with a long denim skirt that belonged to my mum. A touch of oxidized jewellery to the attire and she was good to go!
About the Attire:
Kurta – Westside
Skirt – from Mummy ka pitara!!!
Jewellery – Colaba Causeway

What do you do with that high waist denim skirt you bought ages ago? A shirt or a top!
For my sister it was a perfect excuse to take out that white crop top and the Kalamkari jacket. The mint green colour of the jacket with that beautiful work of Kalamkari just adds the perfect contrast to the white and the blue shades of the rest of her attire!
About the Attire:
Top – United Colors of Benetton
Jacket – Global Desi
Skirt – Hill Road, Bandra
Pumps – Sole to Soul, Bandra

I remember the days when “jumpers” were “dungarees” and all of us wanted one for that sporty look! 😀
This time instead of going for a normal top or tshirt, try it with your ethnic tops! Oh and esp. earthy colours like in this one! My sister has this simple top that has a yellowish brown paisley print on a pastel coloured top that was a good match for the jumper.
About the Attire:
Top – FabIndia
Jumper – Veromoda
Bag – Zara
Shoes – Forever 21
Umbrella – Streets of Mumbai

Denim shirts are a “must have” piece of clothing for your wardrobe! And think about a flared ethnic skirt that would help turn a simple outfit and turn into an eye catcher.
About the Attire:
Top – Nuon, Westside
Skirt – Biba
Jewellery – from the streets of Mumbai
Chappals – Linking Road, Bandra
Well this was my sister’s way of breaking the stereotype of denims being “not so” desi! In fact we believe they are a perfect match for creating some of the most interesting ethnic outfits!
Can’t wait to know how you guys are planning to go desi with your denims!!! 😉
